Ok, that makes two going down on Friday, don't know whether Bill is planning to go down on Friday or not. Haven't heard anything yet from Sean, Trevor, Pauli, or Mrmister.

Someone just told me about an event called Targa California for interesting cars 1975 and older that ends up in Paso Robles when we're there. I just googled it and found their site. Some sweet cars. It would be quite a site to see our group driving by their group!

And this weekend supposedly hosts a classic sports cars convention there.. I counted five 427 cobras ( or replicas of cobras.. I can never tell the diff ) heading south on 280 on Sat am, thought they may be just running around here locally , but they could have been heading to Paso... Hmm, Paso is becoming quite the place for car events . '. ( yeah, ' cause nothing mixes better than wine drinking and drivings sports cars !! )

NorCal Contingent

Last call, I have a very busy mid to end of the week. Culminating with a job interview on Friday.

Still have not heard from Sean, Pauli and Trevor. Bill, are you going down on Friday or Saturday? For those of you I haven't heard from yet. Just meet us at the Edgewater exit off of I-280. We will leave promptly at 8:30.

The weather here looks to be unsettled with rain or showers in the forecast every day this week. It also looks to be cooler than Dan was expecting Paso this coming weekend, mid 60s. If the rain carries over into Saturday we should give ourselves a little additional driving time. If that turns out to be the case, I'll send out a post late Friday afternoon with a revised departure time.

i don't think pauli is going to make it. trevor is coming, but i don't know if he is caravanning with anybody. not sure about sean at all yet.

weather looks like maybe some early saturday morning stuff, and then fine, but a bit cooler than originally expected, with sunday being sunny and in the mid 70s

As of this morning, the forecast is improving ; they are indicating that even by Sat morning , after about 3 am, there is no rain expected anywhere in the entire area from San Fran to Paso ( and of course south of that as well..). But yes, cloudy and much cooler than the previous long-term forecast called for. Let's hope it stays that way.
I'll send Sean an email and see what his situation is. I think he just got back to the U.S a couple of days ago, after an entire year away and probably a million and one things to take care of, so not sure how plausible this trip is, but who knows.. .

Still don't know if I'm driving down Friday evening or Saturday morning. My wife is still on the fence about coming along and departure time depends on her.

for the SoCal contingent, i would like to suggest a change to the "pass by" plan from 9:30 at the Gaviota Rest Stop to 9:00 at Starbucks off the first exit (94B) in Santa Barbara. Same stop as last year. (driving by it anyway with easy entrance back on to 101, 35 miles prior to the Gaviota Rest Stop)

I'll be at Edgewood around 8a this Saturday morning [prob cleaning up the car around 6a, darn rain]. I asked Sean if he was joining yesterday but he's still unsure.

Rap, will it help if I wear a dress and high heels ? ( not two-tone heels though..) I tried to convince my wife to ride along but no luck.. However, Erni's wife wil be there, so Liz will not be the only one representin' the opposite gender at this GTG , :-) :-) .
And the rain better stop, or I may have to ride shotgun with someone else here. I avoid driving the 968 in the rain, and no way I'm bringing the MBZ or any other brand car to a 968 meet, so I have to find something to sacrifice on Friday to the weather gods ..) hoping for dry skies.
Chris, good luck with the interview, might be to early but it wouldn't it be great if we could celebrate a new career over the weekend ?!

"I avoid driving the 968 in the rain" I seem to recall that you and I drove back from a Paso event in one very serious rainstorm, proving beyond any doubt that the car will not melt in the rain.
