Re Sta Inez Valley / Los Olivos , I am completely UNimpressed.. We just did a tour of the top notch wineries there several months ago, and quite honestly I found nothing at all to my liking ( but again, taste is very subjective and I am by no means a wine snob, I just know what I like :-) )
AJG, who said whiskey or bourbon goes with cigars, it's single malt stuff from your land, so we're supporting your fine country's export trade balance, and if you had any human decency you'd get your kilt-covered naked arse on a flight and join this fine group of new world folks in Paso Robles this year !! ;-)

But I'm just a dumb Easterner, we think anything with a cork is "fancy".

Confirmed participants are myself, Bill, Dan, Mark, Mrmister. Unconfirmed include Sean, Pauli, Erni, and Trevor. Is there anyone I missed?
I know that Mark is going down on Friday, anyone else, Bill, Pauli?
As far as I know Bill and I are the only two from the East Bay, so I would propose that we meet the same place we did last year over on the Peninsula. It is a nicer drive for us from the East Bay as we can avoid the 880 construction and the slog through San Jose. So lets plan on meeting at the Edgewater Exit off of I-280. If you are coming from the north, southbound on I-280, take the Edgewater exit. When you reach the bottom of the off ramp, make a left turn and pass under the freeway and you will see a parking area to left just as you pass under the freeway.
It is 190 miles to Paso from there. I think if we allow a little over three hours to make the trip we should have sufficient time. 101 is heavily patrolled, particularly south from Salinas, through King City, south to Paso so we need to mind the speed limit. Given that we need to be in Paso at 11:45, I suggest we leave our gathering point no later than 8:30.
Bill, that means a 7:45 departure from Alameda.
