Yes, slight issue with the Mustang, they must have remembered the last Mustang I rented from them and decided to put the teenager controls on this one. They had me locked down to 80mph, 40% stereo volume and I couldn't event listen to the radio if I didn't buckle my seat belt. I did find I could go over 80 if I put it in neutral going down thru the canyons, which is how I had to keep up.we had a really nice and very quick drive up. banditsc's car had issues i'll let him talk about. it was hilarious though.
What Flash failed to mention about the run to Calcareous was that the last car to leave the first winery (the mustang) was the first to one arrive at Calcareous.
It was another great event and am looking forward to the big 10th anniversary blowout event.. Not sure how is going to top the artists he brought in this year for sketches, I don't think I have ever seen Flash sit still for so long.

It's time for me to get some sleep, sleeping on the red eye back home just wasn't very restful.

As long as you are planning something special for next year, how about ordering up some warmer weather? All the talk about the cute girl at the winery (she was, and very friendly too!), reminds me that we need some warmer temps for more topless cruising!

Oh, and one last thought for you O** F***s who were enamored with the young ladies at Calcarious and Tablas Creek, you need to speak wine and not cars if you want their attention. I had a great conversation with both young ladies and I was able to taste and purchase some things that were off the menu at both locations.
Geez, Chris.. surely you realize the key word there is : " purchase " ! The young ladies were actually looking at your wallet all that time...of course you had their attention

Fun stuff ! I might frame this print and add it to the 968 souvenirs collection. It's not copyrighted is it ?! ;-)

I They have let me know in no uncertain terms that we are not even seen by them.
..in the words of Tonto : " what do you mean WE, paleface ?! ".
Oh did I mention my luggage didn't follow me?
??? Maybe the airline routed it directly to Hershey for the next 968 event ?

In the words of Tonto... What do you mean WE , paleface ?!
And
Could the airline have routed the luggage directly to Hershey for the next event to save you the trouble ?
Kidding aside, what a bummer.. Have they tracked it and are delivering it to your door I trust ?

While the late 20-somethings may have enough denial left in them to remain aloof and "unattainable", they will in a few very short years hit said wall to varying effect. After a spectacular fireworks display of anger and bitterness, some of them come around, while the rest (some would argue the majority) fight reality tooth and nail.
Don't let them convince you that you're invisible. In fact, you've never been *more* visible and more in control.

Trust me, middle-aged gentlemen, when I tell you that men appreciate in value every year beyond 35, while women hit "the wall" and begin to depreciate, some more rapidly than others.

Absolutely true. But there is an unfortunate exception...when they get to that middle age, 25 year old
men suddenly start to become very " visible " to them... and regretfully for us middle-agers , those
young punks are both available and attainable, lol. I see as many cougars nowadays, as I did old
wealthy men with arm candy for past decades .
Sorry, OT...back to our regularly scheduled topic.. Sounds like the 10th and final event will be one to top it all ! I was contemplating this past one would be my last, but I,m postponing that to the next and really looking forward to it !! Even my better half has agreed to join ( except for the fun run part - she'll
enjoy the spa during that time . ). hmm, I have to scout the spa and make sure they don't have a 25
year old towel boy , or masseur assigned to " attend " to her ;-) :-)

Flash wrote: i'll see what i can do about that. believe it or not, i am already negotiating the arrangements for next year. MAJOR changes to the plan. when i announce it, i think everybody will like it, and it will probably draw a LOT more participation. i've already flown the idea past a couple of people, and they are of the same mind as i am, and that it is a great idea.
Hmmm, interesting. Maybe turn it into a Road Rally? Scavenger Hunt? Time Trials? Everyone gets an 8x10 glossy of winery girl? Inquiring minds want to know!

I uploaded 3 low-quality pics taken with ipad in hotel parking lot before dinner. Ipad doesn't do too well in low-light conditions... that's all I got on this trip.
We didn't go on the fun run, but headed back up coast for return trip. Stopped in Carmel and Santa Cruz, and then took the curvies on Rt. 17 over the Santa Cruz mountains. I can't believe some people commute that every day. It must be a real drag to go wheel to wheel with all the minivans and SUV's. However on Sunday nights it's 70mph+ on the uphillside. Finally got home at 11pm.
Wife found a way to slow me down in the corners..."honey, where is the barf bag?" Of course I didn't bring it, but next trip either I'll bring one or leave her home.
Great meeting you all.

not sure where you got the oregon figure. it's just a bit over 300 no matter which route
wiki , yahoo, answers and all that, but went to google maps again, and found the link to point to point driving distances, phew, only 360 miles to the north.. sheesh, thought I was going crazy for a moment..
