IndischRot968 - unfortunately, they are not "just" Recaro Pole Position seats, otherwise I would have bought a set of Poles a long time ago. Yes, these were made by Recaro for Porsche. Yes, they basically have the same dimensions and look the same as the Poles. But, pull up a pic of a plain-jane set of Poles, look at the back of said Poles, then have a look at the back of a set of Porsche CS seats made by Recaro. You'll see the difference quite quickly I believe. That manufacturing difference specificed by Porsche is what makes the CS seats unique, and, dare I say, command a premium.
I'm pretty sure I know where these seats came from too.

the back is smooth on the pole position, whereas the club sport has a rib pattern

And we know that ribbed is better...(that's what she said...)
Couldn't help myself,

But now that everyone and their brother knows about the auction, these gems are probably going to end up WAY out of my reach.

They're sooo much lighter than the standard seats too.

I'm by no means knocking this style seat - I'll be in the market for something like them soon myself - but for my evolving track car, function and light weight will be the main criteria.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Very nice... Wonder if they come in gray, and how much shipping would be...
But again, I'm talking about a track application, where all I care about is light weight, a good fit, and a reasonable price. I suppose if I was building the ultimate street 968, the CS seats could be tempting.
