So nice in fact that anyone who said they couldn't make should think again! We're meeting about 11:30 - Phil's done some body work that will be cool to check out, and if I recall Brian has done some extensive upgrades to his sound system / center console...don't miss your chance to see first hand and get ideas!

And here would be the list:
1. Beer - Everyone who wants to drink beer.
2. Non beer - Everyone who wants to drink non beer.
Then:
Hot dogs and hot dog buns - Phil (I suggest we drop to a dozen unless our non-responders respond).
Hamburgers and hamburger buns - Chris (also a dozen).
Charcoal and lighter fluid - Brian (I dropped your offer Phil)
Grilling utensils - Chris
Salads - Jake (your discretion on quantity)
Eating utensils - Jake
And since no one made a run on condiments I'll grab some mayo, mustard and ketchup. Anyone interested in a special condiment will be up to them unless you let me know...
AND - let me know if I forgot anything! I'm also going to PM everyone my cell number.
Good?

We crossed the border at noon on Saturday and drove up Mt Baker, where we saw lots of SNOW! I never imagined I would have picture of my 968 with snow in August! A late dump of snow in the season, plus a lousy spring and a late summer have resulted in the snow still being around! It was warm enough up there that some guys were snowboarding in their shorts and no shirt!

We then drove to Fairhaven, which is a neet historical port area of Bellingham and checked into our B&B. We spent the evening doing "touristy" things...
On Sunday we arrived a little late (12:30) at Larabee State Park (we had a "higher" commitment first), where the others who did make it out, were waiting. Good to meet everyone for the first time, check out each others cars, exchange ideas and have some good food together.

After Brian (SILVY968) left for the Seattle area and Phil left for Canada, we followed Chris (Simuse) and his wife south on the Chukanut Drive.

At the end of that great driving road, Darlene and I continued on to Anacortes and the Deception Pass area.

We want to thank Chris and his lovely wife for all the effort put into organizing this event.
After waiting at the border crossing for about thirty-five minutes (not bad for a Sunday evening), we finally arrived at home around 10:15 with another 420 "happy" miles on the 968.
I just finished off the left over salads as I am posting this...
For next time, we (me?) will have to plan a group drive in advance.
For those who did not make it out, see you next time...
