Ramius's car is Cassis...and you should see it in person...NICE!

Jay

Jay,

Thanks for the kind words! Once Darryl finishes cleaning up our factory wheels we'll have the exterior back to the factory look. Minta loves her 968... and especially the looks she gets while driving it!!

968 is back from the shop and running well, so I am a definite for Saturday. Since I don't have a manual, one thing I need is someone to walk me through the manual operation of the convertible top - all these forum topics on broken bows is pretty scary. If anyone has a broken one - i'd like to take some measurements and pics and have the guys in the metal shop at work maybe try to come up with ideas - maybe fabricate out of something other than aluminum...

@kenpeterson,

Do you mean fabricate a repair , or fabricate the entire bow?

Manual top operation is very easy...the guys can walk you through it on Saturday. In a nutshell, pop access cover, using factory lug wrench from tool kit, back off screws roughly 3 turns and you're done. As a safety measure, you can either disconnect the console switch or modify the relay in case you or someone else accidentally presses the button someday. I think there's a DIY on here somewhere on the relay mod.

What would be the effect of pushing the button once the bolts are loosened? Do the motors get out of sync?

Despite the forecast being mostly cloudy, it should be warm and a lot better than the rain a part of me had expected. Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Either, but probably fabricate a new one. I can't imagine the weight difference between aluminum and steel would make that much difference.

Given that we'll probably be standing around in horizontal sleet and 35mph winds, I'm struggling to empathize. Posted Image It will at least make for an interesting simulcast, maybe we can call you and Darryl Heat Miser and Snow Miser!

East coast definitely locked up. Can we get a wide angle lens on the West coast? Audio is great but it would be nice to see some more activity for us shut-ins :)

Tks for moving the West coast camera a little. The best angle would really be in the far corner so we coould see out the driveway, a bit of the cleaning stuff and find out what's going on off camera on the left. Unless the sun is going to kill the iris on the camera of course. Just some input for next ime maybe :rolleyes:

It's not that they can't, it's that Steve doesn't want them to. You can thank your Lord Steve Jobs for that...
