Click on www.cpa-pca.org for more info.
for info about last year's event (check icons "Swap Meet" and "Concours". The photos and films include many 968 owners who attended the event last year.
Looking forward to seeing many of you again next year.

For those of you who cannot get enough "Porsche", I invite you to bring your 968 to the Hershey Swap Meet in April. Why would you do this?
- You have Porsche stuff to sell (engine parts, wheels, superchargers, etc)
- You have Porsche stuff to buy (that rare sunroof, rare models or other parts)
- You want to compete with your 968 Coupe, Cabriolet, Club Sport, Sport, Turbo S or Turbo RS in the Concours (did I miss any?)
- You want to meet up with some of the 130 plus other 968 owners who have come to the Hershey event, the largest Porsche gathering in the world!
- You want to finally have the kids go to Chocolate World and the wife do some shopping while you are ogling the Porsches?
As posted on another thread, I am no longer hosting the 968 event at Hershey but will answer any questions you might have about the Swap Meet. You can either post them here or email me direct at dhassenbein@comcast.net
Hope to see many of you there, I finally found my 968 Pedal Car and will have it there (plus 2 rare Starter 1:43 Resin Kits; the first red 968 Turbo RS, the yellow Turbo RS Le Mans version and the new NEO resin 968 Turbo S 1:43 model). I think my collection is now done - lol!

If you want to have a 968 Caravan to the Swap Meet (largest Caravan so far has been 48 cars), you will again need a Caravan Coordinator (lead car - last year Anchorman volunteered) and a central departure point (Holiday Inn, Garden Inn, etc). This person would collect $10 from each individual in the Caravan and pay the Entrance Fees for all at the gate.
As a volunteer for the Swap Meet Concours Area, I will again be parking cars in the Concours area (additional $10 admission - pays for awards)and would be unable to join the incoming Caravan but can help park any 968s together in the Concours. A tail-gate luncheon can be held in either the Concours or Group Parking areas.
Look forward to seeing many of you at this year's Swap Meet! This may be the year that Cosimo scores that long-desired sunroof!

it's been a while since you spent 2 days cleaning a car, so that you could take it out in the rain (why is this thing in april?)
it's been a while since you stood around in a parking lot looking at rusty 914 parts
your polo shirt top buttons don't get enough time buttoned up
you haven't had enough abuse lately from over-bearing control freaks
you like rubber chicken dinners
you enjoy staying in cheap hotels
you find it entertaining to drive at 20mph
it's on your anniversary weekend, and you like pissing off the wife (ok - that's just me)
seriously though, and all kidding aside, i have enjoyed the event every year, in spite of the crap that is generally associated with the event - it's always good to get together with other 968 owners
i just wish the people running it would figure out that this is supposed to be fun, and relax - the parking fiasco that always happens is tiresome - maybe they should come out here to the swap meet event that takes up an entire fairgrounds, and has about 3000 booths every year, and see how it's done - they get 10000 guests in an out in an hour
still, i just might make a brief appearance again myself - besides, i want to show off the supercharged, lowered, winged up yugo

Good news that Jeff and others will host the event again. Jeff also mentioned a 968 event during the 2011 Porsche Parade in Savannah July 31-Aug 6 with a big surprise for 968 Coupe owners.
Wow, three 968 events in one year - that may be a record!
p.s. Last 2 years no rain during the Swap Meet, so lets hope for another great year!

an informal dinner friday and maybe a caravan to the swap meet saturday - nothing else as yet - not really an "event"
3 events - that's peanuts - you east coast guys are lagging - we have a half dozen every year out here - get on it!
it rained last year so much it cancelled the fun run i travelled 3000 miles to do

There may be a forth as my wife and I are toying with the idea of doing a Virginia version of Flash's Paso Robles event. We have some wonderful little wineries here in Virginia as well as some great roads. I'll be in charge of the roads and Christine will be in charge of the wine! More to come in a separate thread if we decide to make it happen.
Back on topic, as for Hershey, we will most likely be there!

i may have to buy a car and leave it on that coast, just for these events - it would cost less than going back and forth with mine
