In an ongoing effort to improve the site and add new things, we have begun the process of the upgrade. Once a few small things are ironed out, we will be upgrading the software. There may well be a few hiccups and outages along the way as we iron out the kinks. Please be patient.

Already the Index page has been opened up to Guests and Lurkers, allowing some content to be viewed without being a member. What they can actually read is very limited, but at least they can see all the categories, even if they cannot read the threads within them. Hopefully this will encourage membership.

You should begin to see more changes almost on a daily basis, beginning next week.

We are making progress.

Already, as a result of the access changes made on the Index page, we have seen an influx of Guests, and a number of new members registering.

We will soon see the positioning in the search engines back to this site being on top as well, which will obviously drive more traffic here. It dropped 2 slots, but as the most active and complete 968 site in the world, it won't take long to get it back on top.

The software upgrade should happen later this week.

Work is underway.

More than likely the upgrade will occur on Monday. The site will be down for a while during that transition, quite possibly all day, until we get everything set.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will enjoy the new software.

no - it's still there

hit "add reply" at the right at the bottom of the list of posts

then on the right, below the text box, click "choose file", select your file, and hit "upload" - the file must be less than 200k, and in a format the site accepts (see the tutorial on that)

then on the left, in the attachments area, use the drop down and click the green icon for the file you want to use (make sue the cursor is where you want in the text or you will have to move the pic to where you want it)

hit "add reply" when you are done writing your post

done

"fast reply" is for text only, like quick answers and such - "add reply" has all the features

It's just not there in this paticular area of the Forum. The regular areas have that functionality.

I for one am hoping the software update address the date problem in the blog area. I know I'm the only one with a blog, but I've not been posting much since the year is wrong and therefore lists posts out of order. I'm planning to go back and edit the existing 2006 entries to be 2010 and I have a few updates on the Coupe, so I'm crossing my fingers.

Keep up the good work!

- Darryl

Is there an option to remove auto update from the new posts list? I.E. When I look at the new posts and get to the bottom of the items there are invariably new entries at the top of the list during my session. Some of them are my replies and the rest are replies from concurrent users. If I do not go back and read them and log out they are discounted as "new posts" when I sign in again.

your replies would be discounted as new posts since technically you already read them - i found that a bit odd too, but i understood it

as for "autoupdate", i don't know exactly what you mean by that - the search tool, which is what is used to "view new posts" searches based on time so it will always grab new posts

i have found a couple of hiccups in the view new posts feature, and will be discussing that with tech support on monday

You're right about my replies, I just enjoy Deja Vu.
I think other replies are being discounted due to the method in which I have always browsed the forum. When I read a message I always hit the back arrow to return to the new post page. If someone creates a reply it shows up on that page when I return; the old software never proactively added replies to that page - it was static for the session. If I fail to notice the new post and log off it is gone as a "new post" (for me) upon return.
Not a biggee but I do have to remember to check the top of the new post page before I logoff to see if anyone had created something during my session.

on the iphone I see different icons for people that appear to be their "personal picture" that is found on the member's page. Interesting.

ALso having a hit or miss experience with videos and the iphone. I can see the pre-site change vids that are represented by the link, but not the new ones that are represented by a picture.
