Zandvoort 500K
#1

Hi guys, we in Holland went racing this weekend in the 968CS (standard engine, plastic body, Intrax 3-way suspension) in the Zandvoort 500 km. The rain came down and we choose Toyo R888s: wrong decision, but exiting racing.

Way cool video

I'm buying a set of full Hoosier rains this winter to be ready for next season. Was considering the Toyos as intermediates.

Any other suggestions?

I consider intermediate damp misting or light rain conditions with the threat of drying out vs. full rains when drops are falling and there is standing water on the track and little threat of drying out....

Toyo's are great intermediates. We had some more profile cut in to take care of the excess water. For full wets Dunlop seems to have a great reputation. We will be buying race wets the next couple of weeks for the 4 hour race on 3 January 2010. I will keep you posted on their performance. Hoosiers are quite uncommon here, but they are cheap compared to the well known brands like Michelin, Good Year, Pirelli, Dunlop, etc. Love to hear good comments on the Hoosiers!

@Dubai: cool? It was so cool/ cold I had the heater (which some *** took out of the car before I bought it) re-installed... In summer we race with exterior temps of around 28-30 Celsius. In the car it gets over 50 Celsius. Cannot imagine what would happen if the exterior temps are getting between 30 and 40 Celsius... Put back th AC I guess

Great video!
Nice quality.

At least you brought her home in one piece.

Was that a Clio in front of you? I did not know they were that quick.
