No, not for the 968 - for my daughter's Jetta. I am comparing 225/45/17s to fit her car and several local shops have this tire in stock at a good price. The tread pattern is decent - high performance all season - and the price is good.
The problem? I cannot find any reviews or mention of this tire on the internet - from either Yokohama's website or Tire Rack or anywhere. Of course the shops assure me its a great tire! I am just looking for a little more info before I plunk down my $500. I am assuming it is made for one or more of the chain stores by Yoko.
Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with the AS 430?
As a side note - I called Tire Rack, having dealt with them many times in the past. I was shocked when the customer service rep was downright rude when I asked him if he knew anything about this tire. He got snippy with me in the first sentence! I mean how hard is it to say, "I'm not familiar with that tire but I am sure that we have a tire that will meet your needs," - which would have been fine. If he didn't know, he didn't know. No problem.
My previous experience with them has always been helpful and knowledgeable. That is why I often buy from them (5 cars) - and I mentioned in my first sentence that I was a multiple repeat customer. That ended today.
I know - they are a sponsor, blah, blah, blah... maybe they'll read this post.
