WTB Sport seats
#1

Interested in finding a set of the sport seats with the deeper side bolsters. I'm only 6 feet tall but I find my standard seats uncomfortable on long drives because the headrest part presses awkwardly on one vertebra in my neck / upper back. Prefer cashmere (tan) to match my interior, but would consider black as well.

thanks

I believe I saw a set on ebay yesterday. Just recovered in black. Good luck.

have you sat in a pair of sport seats yet? i don't think they will be much different in the headrest area. that being said, the early seats sit differently than the late seats, so who knows what your butt and back will like?

there was a guy here who was willing to trade his cashmere sport seats for a standard set. his needed work though. i need to rattle his cage anyway and find out how he did with the supercharger install, so i'll try to slip him a note.

Your best bet is to get a copy of Flash's Cashmere Recaro Sportsters!

All of the electronics in the stock seats really raise them up off the floor and the Recaros should give you an extra ~two inches of clearance in addition to being extremely comfortable - isn't that accurate?

lol - the sportlines are great, but they don't give you quite that much room. it's amazing how a small amount of height feels like more than it is. i think the range from full low to full high on the stock seats is only about an inch. i made custom adaptors for mine, which gained me over a half inch more than the rails they come with. the rails the sportlines come with did still lower the seat a bit from stock though, so i may be as much as 3/4" - 1" lower than the lowest setting of stock.

keep in mind too though that early seats sit a bit lower than late seats, and foam compression from age (the seat, not the person in it) plays a large role too.

Hi thanks for the replies. I sat in Jeff coe's '92 mint green car at the Parade. Very comfortable. Would be great to get lower, as I find it hard to imagine how a helmet will get under the chassis brace I've ordered without reclining the seat a lot.

Does recaro make a set that to match the cashmere without special order?
