Anybody have an old O2 sensor they'd be willing to part with
#1

Doesn't have to be working - in fact, I 'd prefer that it wasn't. Long story, but I need to plug a bung that I added to my exhaust, and a bolt that fits the thread (M18 x 1.5) is very hard to come by. So I'm looking for an old O2 sensor that someone took off their car and was planning to throw away. I'll cover shipping, of course. IM me if you have anything. Thanks.

i'm pretty sure i have a dead one. i kill at least 2 wide band sensors every time i go through the tuning of the kit. let me dig one up.

lol - of course you have to bring that up right after i shipped you your other box, into which i could easily have tossed that.

Thanks for the quick responses; I did a little searching around, and found that some oil drain plugs have the same thread size as our O2 sensors, and I found one at Advance Auto for a couple of bucks.

cool - there are O2 plugs out there too. i bought a couple of them so i could plug the extra bung on my downpipe. pretty cheap.

oil plugs may not like to be broken loose and i'm not sure they can handle the heat of the exhaust. something to think about.

Yeah, that crossed my mind as well. This would be a permanent plug (I had the bung welded on the side of the exhaust pipe before I read the instructions for the wide-band O2 sensor I'm installing stating that the sensor needs to be tilted upward at least 10 degrees to prevent moisture from the exhaust to accumulate on it. As Rick Perry said - Oops...). I am a little concerned about the temperature tolerance, though. I may end up going for an O2 plug, seeing as they're designed for this specific application.

i have mine in there horizontal and it works fine, but i only put it in there for tuning, not to leave it in there. were i to leave it in there, i would have had to add the angle to it.

I might have one as well. But I'm pretty sure it is off an old BMW. I'll check it against a 968 sensor. Let me know if you still need one.
