Have you checked with an OPC in Germany ....There were lots in stock when I ordered mine in May 2005.

I could list the part numbers if you wish.

Cheers Shaun

Yes, I have checked. But the lower spoiler cost new 317.83 Euro and 103,99 Euro for the brake light. Not the cheapest and before I spend that much money for a brake light I can spend that money on something much better for the car. That is why I was considering a used unit.

Here are the Part Numbers....For NON Cab 968's

Lower Spoiler........................................................944 512 103 01 03c

Stoplamp assembly ( 3 part ) .................................951 631 060 00

Lamp Insert Bracket ..............................................951 631 121 00

Lens Screws x 2 ....................................................N014 123 4 ( each )

and if req. New Lower Spoiler Rubber gasket..........951 512 603 00

Replacement Bulbs...............................999 631 030 90 ( each )

Fitting is fairly easy although new wiring has to be "chased" from the Lamp Insert bracket connections

to inside the rear hatch in order to connect up to the stop& tail lamp wiring. The factory uses flat elec.wiring for this but for the after-market fitting I ran the two wires along inside the lower spoiler and across/inside the left hand side side channel and through the hatch by filing two grooves in the soft underside of the hatch

to accomodate the two wires without crushing them too much.

I was greatly helped by Dave Griemann who e-mailed me some pics of his car's assembly and wiring.

Although he has suspended operations temporarily ; you can still access a D-I-Y upgrade for the bulb assembly on the WWW.968engineering.com website.

Cheers Shaun

Thanks for the numbers. This project has some time so first I am trying to find a used unit at least the small spoiler. Because 317.83 Euro for the lower spoiler 944 512 103 01 03c ain't cheap.

Have you checked with oklahomaforeign.com via e-mail? I just bought a rear deck for a cab minus the high brake assembly. They might have one for the coupe. Shipping might be expensive to Deutschland. Good luck.

I agree the parts are expensive ........although the lower spoiler is £ 50 cheaper than I paid in 2005 through Porsche GB.

Have you tried Van Zweeden in Holland......WWW.V-ZWEEDEN.COM They have thousands of used parts from all over Europe.

The Tel. No. +31 118 581370 Good Luck.........Shaun

I previously replaced my third stop light when some of the lights went out. I kept the old one, intending to someday perform the 968.Engineering LED conversion (http://968engineering.com/968chmsl.html). I'm not kidding myself about that any longer, so it's available.

DC Auto has the three-part stop light assembly in stock but it's US$132. You can have my old one for the cost of shipping it fom the US East Coast to Deutschland. I don't know what that cost is but it can't be very much.

Let me know via e-mail.

Used part would definitely be the way to go ... I know, b/c I've been looking for a lower spoiler 944 512 103 01 03c, and OK Foreign and the other people I've talked to say they'll only sell it with an entire hatch assembly.

Meanwhile, this part seems unavailable in the US (Jeff at Sunset Porsche in OR said he did a check and cannot get it from Porsche).

I'm going to try to repair mine; it was damaged in a backing accident and looks like that's going to be my only option.

The lower spoiler seems to be available here in Germany. It would be good enough if some one would make it out of Fiberglas.
