WTB - clutch type LSD
#1

Will consider any make, new or used in good condition - buy or swap for Guards Torque Biasing diff. currently in my car with about 20k miles on it.

Thanks for reaching out if you have what I need.

Cheers!

Would you be looking to sell your tq biasing diff? I have a ton of parts, if I knew of one that might become available, Ive got a whole 951 for parts. Havent sold any yet, except a gas cap. Would sell off some to buy a differential tho.

Yep - I will be selling the Guards, but only if I can find an affordable replacement.

Why do you want to replace the Guard with a clutch LSD?

Monstrous - I will stay in touch with you on this.

PorscheG96 - I want a unit that will lock on decel. And once I put a clutch-style unit in, I will probably want the Guards diff back. That's just where I am right now....

"I want a unit that will lock on decel."

Scott,

Could you elaborate please? Is there a particular track you frequent where this would be an advantage? I'm not an expert on differentials, so I'm just trying to understand the thought process here. Thanks.

Cloud,

The difference I have felt is that the clutch type has continuous engagement of the tires, particularly the inside tire on turn-in. I think for me it's just a driving style issue. The Guard unit only engages when you need it. It's newer technology that you only notice when you need it. I don't track the car, so unfortunately I can't speak from that perspective.

If you are anywhere in the area, you are more than welcome to take "Claudia II" for a spin.
