WTB: 968 3.0L Engine
#1

Looking for a 968 engine complete for a swap for my 944. Do not need wiring harness or ECU.

Prefer an engine that needs freshening up or needing rebuilt as I will be using lower compression pistons.

If anyone has one or knows where I might look for one, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Check the dismantler list in this post. Guaranteed they will have at least one.

Salem Oregon huh? Would you be willing to send me a few pics on what all you would include?

Is there any way I could talk you into compression and leakdown tests?

How much would you would want to crate the thing up and I'd have FedEx Ground pick it up?

I may have an interesting trade also if you are interested.

I'll PM you my phone number.

A little more than I wanted to spend. A great deal though! Carillo rods are an excellent product!

I'm a stickler about installing my own engine parts and performing my own balancing / blueprinting and machine work though.

The other downfall is I can't put my name on someone elses' masterpiece, it's just not right.

Thanks all of you for the quick response and help!

It sounds like you have specific ideas on your engine build. Let me know what you're are up to. I have a bunch of very cool stuff that may help.

My engine was built by someone who is amazingly detailed with lots of proprietary info. Sounds like you know what you"re doing.

Yeah, I'm headed down a particular path.

I'll post up some more when I have more of the master plan put together. If I say too much now, it would be like trying to determine what a gourmet dish tastes like by looking at the ingredients. Porsche + oldschool gearhead + technogeek = something maybe a little weird!

I won't be stingy, I promise.

Sounds like sayporsha and I have a deal pending some test results. Geat guy to work with so far!
