Will this part number work?
#1

I read through all of the interesting and enlightening threads about Big Red brakes and figured I was ready to take the plunge, so when I acquired a set of barely used 993 Turbo front calipers (with pads) from a German ebay auction, I began the new-parts ordering process.

When the rotors arrived I double checked the part numbers and quickly realized I had ordered 993TT front rotors, part no. 993.351.043.01 and 993.351.044.01, NOT the 965 rotors like I had read about. Note to others: order earlier in the day when the brain is still active.

My question is, will the 993 front rotors work for the BR conversion or will I need to purchase the 965 rotors? Also, are there any other odds and ends pieces like bearings & seals, anti-rattle shims etc. that I need to put on the next order form? I didn't know there were so many rotor options out there.

I stumbled across a set of rear rotors too. Is there any possibility of using 993TT rear rotors on a 968 or are they just cool looking door stops now?

Thanks,

Dan

I dont remember the exact P/N''s but my BR's have a 993 P/N's on the rotors. If I think of it when I get home I will check the P/N on my spare set.

This might help -- it's a summary of the tech specs of brakes used on the 911's.

How 'bout it smokie, can you share some numbers??? Man, I've got to know pretty quick. I'm taking the car to the tuner for the upgrade this Saturday and I REALLY don't want to buy rotors again if I can avoid it. Please provide any advice you can. Thanks very much!
