Why Is noone taking over D! racing?
#1

As Flash retires after a long time of working hard on this site, and we all appreciate it, I ask why is no one taking over the manufacturing and selling of the extremely valuable parts that Flash made or invented. I am sure there are enough members here who currently or in the future will need these parts. Today there was a post of someone looking for stainless stell lines for the master cylinder that are not available thru D! racing, And AAI was looking for a par the A/C adjuster also not available.

lol - i presume because nobody wants to pony up the license fee.  i was careful enough to take proper design precautions to prevent anybody from knocking off my stuff without me suing them.  i am open to licensing out the designs, and possibly even selling them outright, but i'm not giving them away.

also, it's no simple feat to produce this stuff.  it takes a lot of time and effort.  not too many want to do that.

I think dedicating the time needed is the biggest deterrent .

Yes, but if it was/is/could be a financially viable business, the time required is compensated. Maybe it's the low volume that contributes to too labor intensive a business. Hopefully an owner would make more than a Walmart greeter, not that I have anything against Walmart greeters.

it's all relative.  i can't spend time on something that only nets $20k-$30k a year, especially since it's a little bit here and a little bit there.  the running around from place to place is too time consuming too.  it always seems to get pushed to the bottom of the list.  that's not what i want for a customer experience.  better for me to quit than to disappoint or frustrate people.

Well Flash Give me a call and we can discuss this. I am retired and would be looking to do something like this. I would hate to see the items disappear. I agree that you should be protected and the designs protected also.
