Why do so few forum members post thier locations?
#1

I keep noticing this and wonder why ...

- A desire for privacy (like giving away the state or city you are in might jeopardize something)?

- Register in a hurry

- Just don't want to

I wonder most often when someone is looking for a car and you naturally want to see if you can help - hard when you don't even know what state they are in.

In my case it was because I never saw where to put it and since I saw nobody else had a location I thought it wasn't turned on in the forum. I just went hunting for it and now I know why I didn't put it in- it's on a page that starts with birthday, icq, im address, etc which I never fill out.

i don't know, but i think it would be very helpful for a number of things - imagine the events that could be arranged if we knew who was where, and could contact them to let them know something cool was happening near them

It would also help in picking sides if an east coast/west coast feud heats up

And while I'm venting on the subject of member info ...

let me just again state my disgust that Mark and I are still classified as "New Member," despite over 200 posts each and being members #18 and #20!

OK, got that off my chest.

I am still feeling the pinch over the East vs West. I moved from LA where I got to know Bob, Dave, Ron, etc and now I'm livin' in NC....

ROFL at your last two posts Ralph. My 200+ posts have virtually no real 968 content in them anyway.

If you'd update your location then everyone would know you and Ralph were in the same state.

Winston-Salem/Greensboro, NC here! I am/was in the same boat that I never saw it. I would rather people know so I can meet more enthusiasts. Looking to change it now !

I don't have a location these days... Well, not a permanent one anyways. But I'm generally in California.

North Carolina seems well represented. Everyone in the Tar Heel state speak up and let us know where you are. This should aid us in scheduling events (which are pretty non-existant) in the Carolinas.

Sound off guys!!

Greensboro, daily driver. Never have seen another 968 on the road, so I would love to get together. I cook for a living during school, so maybe we can throw a 968 BBQ??

Wes

Edit - I also do detailing as a side business, so we could also do a detail day. All I require for friends is cost of equipment and supplies . Otherwise I would get owned by all of my many friends (like 2 if I count my G/F).

Make a couple of tentative dates, and I can work around them. Of course in the restaurant industry, weekends are never a good time, but I can make a Sunday work usually. I am always happy to transport all my detailing equipment anywhere so long as I get to use it . I can't really transport my grill, but would be happy to use anyone elses! Maybe start a new thread in the events forum.
