I got no pics, but normally I put a jackstand under the front control arm near the caster block or the engine cross member. On the rear, near a suspension component. When in doubt, look for a suspension component close to the area where it mounts to the body. These are the strongest points. Avoid sheetmetal unless it is the dedicated jack pads.

Because the 968 is a 50/50 car, you can jack at a front jack point, a jack plate helps and is more safe, and then put a jack stand on the rear jack point, or vice versa.

A while ago someone posted these pix on the other 968 forum and I saved for future ref. Let's see if I can put all them in 1 post.

It is difficult to see from the pictures, but if that big lump is a brick then run away fast. Never , ever use a brick or concrete block to support the weight of a vehicle, unless you want to commit suicide.

Using the jackstand a capella is the safest solution.

It appears to be a block of wood to me. I think I see grains in the larger picture.

I use the rear jack point for the floor jack, put jack stands under the front lift pads and put the rear jackstands under the torsion bar carrier, just outboard of the sway bar brackets. The torsion bar tube sits in the curve of the jackstand very nicely.

Here's a picture Bruce Ward posted on rennlist (I think) that has a great pic of the underside and jack points and alternate points:

FYI, that picture is of a 944 turbo and the jack points are different from a 968.
