What is your Number
#1

Could not post anywhere else:

Just trying to find out who has some of the first 968s. I think mine is one of the oldest in the states. anyone else have anything less than less than VIN # 150?

Flash: MAybe we can make a running list of all known VIN and owner/members (spreadsheet type thing)?

why you all ask: because it's another cool fact of 968 ownership....

Here is mine:
VIN: #0133 OWNER: XRAD

cheers

there is such a list for cabs, and one being built for hardtops - just waiting for the updated cab one to be posted by jeff - this is where it belongs for sure - you are absolutely right

lol - i had trouble placing this one myself, but since it went to a "why don't we have it on the site?" kind of thing, i put it here

the library is indeed where it should live - that is the archive location for all such things - we've just been waiting for it - the info on the register is out of date - that is the same list, but 2 years old and incomplete (at least from the file date) - jeff finished it, but it seems it's not up yet

yeah - that's one of the reasons why it should be here in the library where membership is free to all - i'm hoping that it gets posted soon - otherwise i'll have to make some calls and have the production history run - not a horrific deal, but a pain in the butt for me nonetheless, considering that it has already been done

X,

I know this info is inthe VIN somewhere.
Can you tell me how to find it?
I did a brief search of the Forum but couldn't find the secret.

I know it's relatively early, because I have the recessed hood badge.

Last 4 numbers in my VIN are 0246.

NICE! recessed hood badge. That's a keeper. Wonder when that changed...

Just take the last four digits of VIN and subtract 60 (the number Porsche kept for some internal gifts and other uses) and then you have the released into circulation numbers. I don;t know what percentage of the early cars made it to USA

So basically, you have #196 of the released numbers.

Or so the theory goes....

Thanks guys.

Hey Flash/Jeff, getting a few numbers here. Anything like an open spreadsheet where we could just add our numbers......

only X x 1000 to go

Dave, your car is a 1993 coupe, nothing to get upset about... Maybe you are the first 1993?
