What a dog
#1

So here I have this great looking car, freshly overhauled engine complete with all OEM parts and brand new fuel injectors. Really happy with everything except that she is a real dog! I know the engine needs to break in and I only have 212 miles on her now but first fill up with fuel is showing combined city/hwy mileage to be 17mpg. I would have expected at least 19 to 22 minimum. Can floor it and she just barely gets out of her own way.

When up to speed and about 2500 to 3000 RPM, she seems fine.

Fuel pump pressure? Airflow meter? Stretched throttle cable?

Sounds like cam timing to me, but there are loads of possibilities. Why was it overhauled?

It should be easy to see if you are off by a tooth on your timing belt but there is also adjustment in the exhaust cam sprocket.
