If anyone is interested in entering your car in the concours on Aug 11, I have uploaded the application.

The contact person is Jim Borowske <jim@fredd.info>

"While originality is a very important aspect of the Concours, modifications, done tastefully, will not hurt the possible acceptance. If we were able to get 6-8 top quality 968’s, a separate Class would be added. 2-4 968’s would be wonderful. The Concours is for charity and a minimum entry fee is $250.00. The entrants cars will certainly receive great notoriety. Also, on the Friday of Car Week is the Werks Reunion in Carmel by the Sea. This will be the 3rd year. In 2016 there were 700 Porsches!  A great event that would top off the week for those participating in the Concours on the Avenue. Please let me know if you have further questions."

I have received the last Strut Tower Brace from Flash and I am ready to install. Here is the question. Will it hurt my entry in the  Werks Reunion Concours entry at Carmel. in August?. Will it now be considered "modified"?

If they are judging on originality it will count against you, probably 0.1 point. If judging on preparation it won't if it's clean. You'll need to read the rules for the show. Also, even with a 0.1 deduct your car will still show very well.

Why wouldn't you just wait 2 weeks to install the brace and remove all doubt...?

In this case it (The strut brace)fell under safety equipment as well as fire extinguisher and other safety add-ons and it was OK. But the rules are different from show to show. A great learning experience for me. First Concourse and first Judging. It gave me a great deal of info about what needs to be improved on my car.

I've seen only three 968s at Laguna Seca today : one in the Porsche corral , another in one of the regular parking lots, and a third in the parking lot next to the lakebed area. All three were red ! Two cabs, one coupe .

Kaj, the car looks fantastic .

The car did OK and got a lot of attention. However it is not quite Concourse material yet. The purpose of me signing up for the Concourse was to learn and listen. Now I know what to focus on. The event was a lot of fun. Met a lot of Porsche guys that gave a lot of advise.

PS: Strut brace safety equipment?...yes I know that's funny...but that's how they judged. I judged the interior of the 993/964's. That was kind of boring since they where all so perfect. they looked like nobody had ever been inside. Makes me wonder how often some cars are driven. My 968 is on the road every day.

I typically only see one or two 968s in Monterey during car week. We're more rare than any Ferrari or Lambo - I love it!
