What prompted the joke was a business symposium and cocktails reception I had just attended where spouses or "significant others" were also invited, and one of the participant's wife was a former swimwear and underwear model. Not a VS angel, or catwalk model, but a print ad model . Tall and pretty but good grief, she really needed to eat a burger or a cookie or something ! I heard the camera adds ten lbs, but she looked almost anorexic..and this is years after she left that line of work. Anyway, she nearly passed her cocktail through her nose at my underwear in Macy's remark, which of course is a borrowed old joke , but she had never heard that before .. Ugh, youth !

I went solo. Did not ask, but discreetly looked at her derrière as she walked by - no lines so it was either a thong, or she went " commando " . And btw, when my lovely wife is with me, she knows that I always throw a glance or two at attractive women . Tolerated because she's also old enough to understand it's a male genetic imperative to do that .
