V-8 968
#21

Just a quick comment, I did the SC install at the end of last years driving season. This year I've done two, two day DE's so far and can tell you performance is quite impressive. My lap times have dropped 3 to 4 seconds in a 138 sec lap. I have also picked up a huge amount of under-steer, from the torque I believe. Powering out of the corner has never been so fast, thus the under-steer. My car is basically stock except for MO30 bars, Koni adjustable, HR progressive springs, and all of the chassis braces. I drive the car to and from the track and also use it for occasional pleasure driving. This thing is perfectly drivable and reliable. Consider the SC install before tearing up a 968 with a V8 conversion, unless of course the build challenge is the driving factor.

Now back to figuring out the under-steer solution.

the understeer was likely always there, but you never felt it because you were going just slow enough to not cross that "line". every car has either understeer or oversteer, and can actually have both at the same time. each is merely the slipping and loss of traction at that end of the car. all you have to do to have either where you did not before is change a condition including but not limited to: tire pressure, sway bar rate, spring rate, tire compound, heat, or most importantly speed.

just as a note, before anybody goes there, the extra 40lbs of the kit is not likely a factor
