"Unplanned" update
#1

Hi Folks,

The website went down yesterday around 3:00 PM EDT.

As it turns out, the version of our software was 2 generations old, this has been upgraded to the latest version.

Also, our security certificate had expired, this has now been resolved and the site is now SSL secured. (You should see our certificate on the search bar when you log in and the website will show httpsSmile. We have almost no issues with SPAM due to our new member requirements.

I notice that the look has changed just a little, but if you notice anything changed significantly, or missing information, please let me know and I'll work to get it cleaned up.

Thanks for all of your support. I intend to keep this site up and running (and free) for as long as I possible.

Regards,

Jay

The search bar I’m seeing currently reads “Not Secure - 968forums.com”

Thanks Jay. Of course I picked yesterday to log in after a few months away and I feared the worst.

Sometimes updates are worse than leaving it alone. I updated my site and all of a sudden I didn't know how to do anything update and organizing wise as much had changed and it's an entire new program. I was glad my guys could revert it for me. I was ready to delete both sites.

I hate change for the sake of change, if the change doesn't actually solve a problem then it's useless and only a way for someone to keep a job.

Good job on the SSL update though. I also appreciate HTTPS sites.

Hi

the site is not using the SSL certificate

The web page at https://www.968forums.com/ might be temporarily down or it may

you can only see the cert if connect over SSL, and you cant connect over SSL,

little more configuration needed

I'll work on the SSL on Monday, the tech assured me he had initialized it, and that it would auto-update,

Thanks for all those who worked behind the scenes to get the site back up and running.  I needed my 968 fix!
