Well, We have successfully finished our move from Severe Southern Arizona to What we're calling Georgiabama. I work and shop in Georgia (Columbus/Ft. Benning), but we have residence in Alabama (Phenix City). The equipment in the move involved a top-to-bottom packed-to-the-gills 26' U-Haul truck, with the 968 in tow on a full-transport behind and my wife driving her Outback behind me. For 1700 miles and 3 1/2 days.
$1450 in gas.
Now, the truck was by far the gas eater on the trip. $200/tank. My wife's car has never had better mileage, since she was drafting the entire way. She would put $30 in every time I would drop $150. All I have to say is that I'm glad the U.S. Gov't was footing the bill on the move. The best gas prices along the way was actually here in AL. About $3.89 for 87. And it of course dropped to about $3.77 two days ago thanks to China! and Nigeria! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
Anyways, I'm just glad the trip is done and we are just about all settled into the new house.
Now I'm looking forward to some GA/AL drives... and trying to make an excuse to go to D.C. in the 968.
