Does anyone know if the torque converter mounting for the 944 and 968 are interchangeable? The part numbers are almost identical except for the last digit. (9444211100 vs 9444211101)

Just check PET and the 01 number is not an update for the 944, I would guess yours id cracked and rattles. we have had a small rash of these breaking over here

 

some have just had them welded up and re-balanced and so far they have been fine, some have gone second hand, no one has gone new as yet.

 

just checked the later number 944 421 110 01 its now NLA at porsche

My torque converter damper has failed and needs to be replaced. Wondering if the mounting should be changed as well since its pretty much the same job. I found a few used converter mountings apparently taken off MY93/95 968s, strangely both have the part #9444211100, which leads me to believe that the 00 part has been superseded by the 01 part that is now listed on PET for the 968.
