That was most likely the car that ran at Le Mans.

Yes it was the LeMans car now that you mention it.



The strangest car of all came from that engine. The 1987 944S. a 2.5L 16 valve engine in a normal 944 body/suspension. The S that I have did not even have a sway bar in the rear. It did offer ABS as a $2k option.

So with a few options my car sold for 36K and looked no different than any other 944 for the most part. No wonder this marketing wonder did so well.
