Tires For Porsche Boxster S2 wheels
#1

Hi all, I have recently bought a used set of Boxster S2 17" wheels, the fronts are 7" width, the rears are 8.5" width. I know these wheels had 205/50R17s on the front and 255/40R17s on the rear. I noticed the stock 16s currently on the car have 215s on the front. What size tires would you suggest I go with? Should I stick with the ones that came on the boxster, even though the are narrower in the front? What about the rear tires? I know this is subjective, I'd just like some opinions because I don't have any idea what I can get away with. I don't think the clearance is an issue.

Thanks

I have the same wheels and use 205/50 on the front (55 offset) and 255/40 on the rear (50 offset). Fit and look perfect.

Thanks Kim, I didn't know whether I should worry about going down a little bit in tire width on the front, but it sounds like it shouldn't be a problem.

Dave, what is your front wheel width?

Are you talking the actual stamping on the rim itself as opposed to the size (225) of tire on the rim?

yes, I was asking about the width of the wheel, mine are 7" front 8.5" rear, but Flash said that 225s on the front still shouldn't be a problem.
