Limit slip differental
#1

First I want to express my appreciation over 968 forums, I have already got a lot of help.

As previour mentioned, I racing a -92. but have no limit slip diff. I faar as I have read is a torsen better for track, esp. with ABS brakes. But were to buy one?Is there something special to think on when it assembled?

If its a pure track machine, Guard Transmission recommends a limited slip type instead of a torque sensing type on their website. They say this is because torque-sensing types do not give you limited slip on deceleration, and they do not work well with one of the drive wheels off the ground. You may want to look into either a standard Porsche unit or one of the Guard Transmission limited slip units.

should he have the pinion bearing done just in case while the LSD is being installed?

people in the know seem to have recommended it.

BTW I have the factory 92 clutch lsd and I love it. I don't know how to evaluate its performance under DE-celeration, although I had heard that the clutch does perform whereas the torsen does not in that scenario.

Replacing the pinion gear is a *much* bigger job than installing the LSD. I would only do it if he has reason to suspect it is bad.
