Has anyone purchased this?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...4011&rd=1,1
Or, who has purchased kits from any of our other favorite vendors such as Paragon, Peilcan, Sunset, etc. I'm looking to tackle this project at some point ove the winter and wanted to get all the parts and tools necessary. My mechanic has some of the tools but I think I'll pick up the Arnnworks set at
http://www.arnnworx.com/
Any thoughts or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I use conti - now crp belts and the shop that I use swears by them.
As far as the rollers in the kit go - haven't a clue.
My shop can get me the same kit for about that price from their supplier.

I talked to chuck at paragon when i did mine, very nice guy! and i got everything i needed.
as well as a water pump since i was going to be in there anyway.
since i didn't have any other leaks i didn't replace the front seals
the service at paragon is excellent, theyve got my vote

Darryl, the Arnnworx kit does not come with the flywheel lock for a 968 6-speed. It will work with the auto or 944 cars. He has nice tools for the price.

I believe I got my flywheel lock from the Bird (Pelican Parts), for under $100.00...
Nice piece! And it is significantly different than the 944 lock!

Bruce at Arnnworx used to make a lock for the 968 manual. You might e-mail him.
Might check Zims and Performance for one as well.

I just got an email from Paragon Products stating they now have a kit for the 968 belts and rollers. Also, I bought my flywheel lock from Paragon, cheaper than Pelican.

The e-bay kit lists what looks like the wrong timing belt for the 968. From Paragon's list, the belt is not shared with the S and S2 like the e-bay site lists. Beware...but if he can get the right belt it would be a hell of a deal.
Just checked PET and the e-bay kit has the right t-belt #. Looks like Paragon has it wrong on their site.

968bill, I hope you got the right lock, because the one for the 6speed is $107.00 from Paragon. The wrong one is $42.00.

Yes I got the correct one, I used it when I replaced my clutch several months ago.
Yes, Paragon does make mistakes on their web site. I found it's best to give Jason a call unless you know the p/n they show is correct. I think I paid about $70 for mine, but don't quote me on that. I know it was a good bit cheaper than the bird, all my clutch parts were.
Update: I stand corrected, I found the invoice and found I bought the flywheel lock from Pelican for $82.50 p/n 000-721-920-61-OEM
That's what I get for relying on my memory.

How long has Conti been CRP? Is this really recent?

BTW, one has to be careful right now on parts. Some "Bosch" imitations for fuel pumps are starting to come in from China. Maybe they'll be OK but I'd hate to be the one to find out otherwise.,

I have bought mine from Paragon before. Jason is extremely helpful and prices are good.
A buddy just bought 2 kits from Vertex and they sent the wrong crank seal on both - 2 different ones, actually.
