My93 Cup (93 Cup (Cup 2)) wheels are in dire need of refinishing, and they have some gouges....so I started looking for a set of wheels.
I found a refinished set of 993 Cup (93 Cup (93 Cup (Cup 2))) wheels (never mounted), but they are NOT from a 968. The backs are the same (17x9 ET55), but the fronts are different:
Stock Wheel: 17x7.5 ET65
Potential Replacement Wheel: 17 x 7 ET55
So the wheel would stick out 10 mm further, but the old wheel would have an extra quarter inch protruding (6mm), so it would basically be a very small change in offset, it would stick out an extra 4 mm, but the inside of the tire would be pushed towards the outside of the car also.
If I look at 225 tires, the rim width is 7"-8.5".....and recommended is 7.5". I would be going thinner.
What do you think? Skip? Hit?

Are they cheap? If so, no reason not to use them on a street car. You'll get a better contact patch with the wider wheels on a track car.

I haven't negotiated the deal yet.....but appear to be just a little more than refurbishment of my wheels.

Thanks....after thinking about it some more....it's half an inch of width and 4mm of offset.....I think I am cutting hairs here. Will let you know if the deal goes down!

vliegwielolaf1234 : Can you post a picture of your car with the wheels? I did not realize they were not exact matches....I see the subtle differences. And I just looked at the wheels on my car they are 17x7 ET55 and 17x8 ET53.....so it's not biggie....I'm hoping I can strike a deal.

Well I did the deal....they are shipping tomorrow....the guy had them refinished in boxes for something like 10 years now, he bought them when he owned a 911, had them refinished, then sold the car, then was going to put them on his boxster, then sold that....so now they are coming my way. Got them for a little more than refinishing my wheels.

All I have to do is have my tires swapped over....they only have 3K miles on them or so. I'm stoked!

I am scheduled to have the tires swapped over on Thursday (at Chicago Performance and Tuning, will do a great job) and I was searching craigslist today for Porsche parts and found some center caps. Mine are not colored and they have been painted partially red. Found these, brought a wheel over, and they fit and match perfectly.....so I bought them. If you are going out, you might as well dress up! Can't wait!

I used search tempest and found them on craigslist in TN. I paid the guy via PayPal (he did have 3,000 + posts on a few Porsche forums) and then emailed him mailing labels for shipping that I created from my UPS account.
