the oem mats i have came with a little wire clip - the 2 ends of the wire squeeze together and insert in a slot in the seat bracket, and then spring back out to hold it in place - the strap then just lies going forward



not the best idea, and a pain to install, but it does work

alligator clips... ? clamp the mat's edge near each corner ( bottom of the mat ) with the clips and insert the pins all the way to the pin's "elbow" into the car's carpet in a parallel line with the bottom of the mat - that should hold it securely

in place..
