Caliper dust boot question:951 351 917 00 vs 951 351 919 10
#1

Does anybody know if the 36mm dust boot sold as kit 951 351 917 00 (just two boots) is exactly the same as the one from the kit  951 351 919 10 (piston, boot and seal). The boot from each kit seems to have the same Brembo part number molded on the top (20.4872.44).

I just need the boots and wonder if I can use the 951 351 917 00, however, when checked for fitment on a few Porsche websites, they say it is not compatible.

Hi

the 36mm piston kit is 951 351 919 10. the other part number 951 351 917 00 is just listed as a repair kit in PET, and is not shown for any FE car

so no I don't think it will be of any use

Thank you for the reply, Waylander.

That is what I see as well on the Internet. What is intriguing me is that the boots have the same Brembo part number on top, so, in theory, as a Brembo part they must be identical. Unless there are some additional numbers/letters that are not visible in the pictures.

All Brembo pistons and seals and caps are of the same construction of that era

I buy seal sets direct from Brembo parts supplier to rebuild calipers, the last axle set I bought was 8 piston seals, 8 dust seals, four bleed nipples, that came to about $130

The pistons very rarely need replacing unless they are corroded.

If you fancy stainless steel bleed nipples then you can buy the Ducati motorcycle ones

My local one here in the UK

Its all by piston size so there is a pdf on this site that gives all the part numbers

Might help you find genuine Brembo spares outside of the Porsche banner for considerably less money
