Headlight Bulb Replacement for Street Cars
#1

I just did a search on headlight bulbs and nothing came up, so I was wondering what bulb is the brightness for nighttime use in a street 968 vehicle is recommended.

I put in PIAA bulbs in 2010 and just called PIAA to find out if their bulbs have improved. They have a new bulb called extreme white #9004 which they say is the brightest one they sell which would fit in the 968's, and may be approximately 50% brighter than my old bulb.

What do you experts think?

The key here is "the brightest one that can be legally used." Many, including myself, choose an off-road bulb. Osram Bilux H4 70/65W is my choice with no problems.

Careful with the load, the wiring may not support the wattage. There is a link somewhere in here that discusses bulbs, and specifically headlight bulbs.

Wiring and draw are a consideration which is what PIAA stands for in all their bulbs, as they draw the same current with more light output so they claim. I could not find the link in the forum which is why I started this thread.

Use the little gear thingy at the top. As Flash says, search is your friend.

Here is one of the links I found searching for "Headlight bulbs":

There are several others, some also list the best dash bulbs, which is very helpful.
