Hello from me, 968 on order, new here !
#21

Maybe it's different changing with your left hand, as we RHD 968 owners do. I quite enjoy the 968 box, as I did my 951 before it. I'd call them well-oiled and meaty, with no slop in either of mine. Both were much better than the 964 box that came between the 951 and the 968. Unless you've been raised on a diet of Hondas, I can find little to criticize in a well-maintained 968 box. Other RHD owners (Eric, Baz, Craig) let's hear from you...

Thanks all. I know how to change gear, I'm a Brit, I've never even owned an Auto.

Flash - no D1R shifter installed (I have your old shift knob, that's probably what you're thinking of). I'm pretty happy with the throw distance of the 944 Racing shift kit, or whatever is in there, just not with the metallic-y shift feel. Going back to stock in the rear, and adding your shift lever should be the best of both worlds.

Flash drove for a small spin today and tried to shift they way you described. Big difference, did not miss the right gear once. I will have to practice it as I have always driven Toyota or Ford pick up I never shifted with my hand on the shift knob like this one requires.

A couple of pictures, it has been snowing here since I collected it, so I've not had chance to drive it much yet...

as it says at the top of this category, you cannot post pictures in this area. it's just for introductions

pictures should go in the SHOWROOM or in the GALLERY or in the GARAGE

Nah, I think he's shouting because he thinks it's hard to hear him all the way over here from the SHOWROOM or the GALLERY or the GARAGE!

i'm not shouting. i'm trying to show you key words to search for without using quotes or underlining. it was more punctuating than anything else. lol - i assumed you had a problem reading things, so i thought i'd make it easier

be happy. i used to do everything in caps. now i hardly use them at all.

Wow, OK.

I can understand the disconnect here as pics in intro posts are pretty typical and if a new poster introduces themselves with no pictures, the next few posts are likely to be pic requests. I admit I have not looked at all the rules and nuances myself, there are about 80 forums here and so I just 'read new' and never look at which forum I am reading in.

At any rate welcome! I have never been to your dot on the map but I have been North and South of there, even made my passenger ill on the roads of the Yorkshire Dales the last time. I hear there is a great motorcycle museum in B'ham. I hope to visit someday.

Cheers,

-Joel.

it's just a case of wanting them to be in places where they are easier to find. most other sites are not as well organized as this one. they are just continuous piles of junk. this site is not a chat board like those. it is as much of an encyclopedia as a social meeting place. you wouldn't want an encyclopedia without organization would you?

that's why we put up the garage and gallery. that is the place to put pics of your car. putting pics in threads is intended to be more a function of illustration of a point, and not a photo album.

Also, our very tricky screening process guarantees us the smartest and most congenial membership, such as the esteemed contributors to this thread...

Yes, right next to BHX airport, I know it well. If you're in that area then the Formula 1 collection at Donington is also well worth a visit. All very local to me.

So I see.
