Spare tire compressor
#1

Guys I'm new to the 968 world, where is the tire compressor stored? just picked up a 92 tip in red, had to do the flex plate job etc. now I want to drive it and I'll want a spare, but as I see it has to be inflated, thanks for any help.

My compressor was stored in the trunk, driver's side storage bin. Under the carpet.

Welcome to the world of the 968. The OEM Porsche compressors are a hot eBay commodity and rarely found "at time of sale" with the car. Most cost effective solution is to wait for Kragen or Autozone to have an all-in-one compressor/power source on sale for around $50 and get one of those.

Good luck!

There are several on EBAY. Expensive, but original stuff always is.

Did your 968 come with a tool kit, tow screw and jack?

Here is a shot of what should be in the tool kit as well as the tow screw.

If not, wreckers and EBAY can be a good source.

You can pick up an AC compressor (cigarette lighter) at Target for about 14 bucks that works quite well. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
