Another reason we are the best website
#1

I have recently been reviewing security measures for our website, and one thing I have noticed about other websites, is the number of cookies that the websites place in your browser. These cookies are for purposes of marketing to you and watching what your computer does.

Rennlist places 4 to 6 new marketing cookies in your browser each and every time you look at their site, whether you log on or not, and .NET places 4. I found a number of BOTS as a result of some of them. I now have to turn cookies off each time I want to see these sites. You can tell which ones they are by the names.

Our site does not do that. While the site does use cookies to identify you, NO marketing cookies are placed in your browser.

If you are concerned about the security of your computer, control your cookies or don't go to sites that dump them into your browser.

I really like the fact that when I access this site, you feel you are dealing with a site that exclusively deals with what you accessed it for; relevant info about our 968's PLUS an honest & respectful exchange of "other ideas" (even though we may have differing opinions). You soon get the feeling that this is also "your" site, which is a good feeling in this "me" society that we currently live in. I also enjoy the sense of humour that some are able to bring to this site. This site has become part of my daily routine, which is saying a lot about the quality! Thanks.

I do find myself checking regularly during the day as a quick refresher. Liz gets tired of my forum this or forum that. No pic of Jen. We might have all shared this opportunity. For conversation of course! Not! Lol

@Jay - send Jennifer $100 to get her passport updated, and she'll be able to visit. That is, after you send $1,000 for a plane ticket... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Langley-

Well said. This site was one of the factors which convinced me to change my mind about selling my car. There are plenty of car forums that are very helpful, but there's a real sense of community and "we're all in this together" about this site. Our willingness to create new/improved parts for the car, and to support those who do, is one good example.
