Prospective 968 owner
#1

Hello!

Been admiring the 944 for 3 years, I was very close of buying one which was perfect with only 45k miles. Then I watched a review done by carfection on youtube titled the front engined coupes that saved the 911, initially to see what they think of the 944 but then the 968 came next, I was very impressed to say the least.  Popcorn  I've known about it before vividly and probably thought that it's some kind of unicorn concept car because I've never seen one. Long story short, I did a quick search on the classifieds and found a 92 black/black with 156k miles for $8500 and hope you can help me with the decision!

Welcome. Maybe you should download the PPI that can be found on the forum. It can and will save you a lot of money if you decide to buy a 968.

Be patient and shop around. 968's can be wolf's in sheep clothing. 156000 miles is a lot. You would want all maintenance records. Timing belts, rollers, water pump and there are so many other maintenance issues that need to be covered. Any inexpensive 968 often end up to be very expensive.

i wouldn't buy any 968 priced at 8500, unless i was going to gut it and turn it into a race car.  that is going to be a problem child for sure.

Thanks for the advice, i will post another thread in the right section. The owner is pretty negotiable and I'm still not sure.
