Thanks for the invite, but I can't make it.

Curious to know if it will be a pro usc or ucla crowd.

50/50 chance for a trip, as things stand now. by the end of the week, I should have a better feel on which side of the balance the go or no go weight will be.

Oh, man, what a bummer. I hate to miss any party but, as a former Angeleno, I particualry hate to miss USC/UCLA games. I hate it when that happens.

Not me, as much as I looooove coffee and cars, last time I was up until 3 am the night before ( which I fully expect will also be the case this time as I plan to be bar and club-hopping with friends in L.A. land.. ) only to get 2 hrs zombie sleep and up for coffee and cars at 5 . Of course I managed to repeat the very late night routine the subsequent night, which led to a dangerous nightmare of a drive back home on Sunday - the toothpicks mounted on my eyelids were the only thing keeping me alert for 450+ loooong miles

If coffee and cars was on Sunday morning it may have worked.. on Saturday ( this trip, anyway ) I promise to go to sleep at a civilized hour.. since I'll be a house guest I must show some manners.. well, actually the truth is that I want to be fully rested for the drive back, but I'm just sayin' that to give the appearance of a considerate guy ..

All this is conceptual of course, since I still don't know about the trip, but thought I'd respond with a convincing reason for declining to accompany you to the show

lol - no worries - but, it doesn't start until 7, and i wasn't going to take the 968 or even park inside - i was figuring on parking outside so as to make a hasty departure when it was time

anyway, not sure how i feel about it yet myself - always fun, but definitely early - i figured i'd poke around and see who else might want to go

by the way, there is one in calabasas on sunday morning too - same time though, which means leaving my house by 5 to get there

long term forecast did not look good about a week ago, but now it seems to predict only partial clouds

Forecast looks great, whoo-hoo.

Thanks Bob, really appreciated - and noted ; will not be bringing beer.. though I'm sure you must be running out of one thing or another on those bar shelves ( heck, my tequila consumption alone every time I'm there factors in )

Sean who ? Do I have a two car caravan drive potential here ? Well, I'm heading out Friday morning ( have some other stuff planned in LA on Friday evening and satying in Pasadena over night ) so if anyone else is on route that day, let me know !

oh, great ..now I have to make sure the weather stripping is perfectly aligned on my car, or some other minor flaw

( like the fog lights mounted upside down ) is not visible, otherwise there'll be hell to pay

kidding aside, it'd be great to see you Ron, sheesh, it's about time

Thanks for the help offer flash. I ended up buying a tank from PartsHeaven, after speaking with Pete. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow. I did a quick fix on tank and that seems to be working for the time being.

I am definitely looking forward to joining you guys Saturday. Ya, weather for cast looks alright. Any more thought on the morning jaunt to...what was it...Coffee and Cars?

ds968--you've got me all nervous now with your 'perfect weather stripping' comment. Is that how you guys roll? I'm ashamed of the shape my car is in. Quite embarrassing actually. But, it is supercharged (for whatever that is worth) and the offer will be open to anyone who is interested, to take her for a spin and see what the work in progress is like. Hopefully that will give me a little bit of redemption for the deplorable condition she's in.

Cheers

yes - coffee and cars - you can ring me up for details

don't sweat the car - yes, we tend to be anal, some more than others - all in good fun though - it's only because we love the car

i was only kidding about the spotless car syndrome.. heck, there are all sorts of things out of order on my car as things go.. gravel marks, dimples, a clearcoat blemish spot the size of a quarter, none of the stripping really fits that well, the hood is not perfectly even aligned on both sides, . yada, yada.

looking forward to seeing you and the S/C on Saturday.... and, I for one would love to see what that SC feels like in our cars !!
