Round 911 VDO clock in cubby
#1

I want to mount a 911 round style VDO clock into a new cubby gauge panel supplied by 968 Engineering. The part number for the clock is 911.641.701.00 or .29

Can anyone tell me if this clock will fit in the 2 1/16th inch gauge hole in the panel?

If it is not the right size what Porsche round clock, by the part #, will fit?

The VDO aftermarket gauge from egauges will work nicely. Kinda pricey though.

Ebay had a Porsche 924 Turbo 931 944 Center Console Gauge Package that I won for $35.00. Complete with brackets and lamps.

It will get me the modification that I want using the 3 hole cubby gauge panel from 968 engineering.

Can anyone tell me how to get oil pressure to the cubby area?

Cubby gauge mod. all done. The clock is visible from the driver's position, the oil pressure gauge gives bar pressure and the center cubby hole makes a convenient place to put my cell phone.

Nice! You should have had me do the panel in burl!

Question - how does the oil pressure gauge receive its signal?

Still just a dummy. I'll tap into the original sender and see if the sender is compatible, if not I'll have to plumb in the correct sender.

Actually it is a red plastic 2 1/8" I.D. square plastic box that I got from TAP Plastics. I used epoxy to hold it in place. The flash shows up the red, but in normal lighting the red does not show up. Flubber would have been better, but I searched the Disney web site and could not locate any.

RE the burl, quote 968engineering web site: "! I can put a custom finish on the painted items if you like. Just contact me and we can work out the details."
