I'm not a fan of any Summer Olympics events, I do like the Winter Olympics however ! I enjoy watching just about every sport there ( except cross-country skiing ...except for the last three or four minutes it's way to dull for me )

You either hate or love the Olympics. My big concern is the fact that a Country deep in recession had to spend hundred of millions of dollars to built an Olympic City that will be pretty much useless in a month. In the mean time the whole population is paying the price. The poor the most.

Why not built an Olympic City somewhere in the World that can be used every 4 years............only question where?

Brunei . Funded entirely by the Sultan. Anyone with a personal car collection in excess of 5,000 vehicles ( WHY ?! ) amounting to more than $ 300,000,000 , whose net worth is estimated to be at least $ 20 Billion , can easily build an entire and permanent Olympic city and fund the games every four years . Oh wait, there may be a few cultural glitches to overcome first ...

Winning Olympic GOLD in men's soccer makes the whole experience worthwhile for Brazil!

Neymar accomplished what many great Brazilian players before him were not able to do.

And against Germany - even sweeter!

Sorry I'm late posting replies, would have done it earlier but on my way back home today I was robbed at gunpoint by a couple of brazilians posing as policemen .

Yeah, I'm glad for their soccer team managing to pull off a victory, albeit via the much detested PKs - but regardless, it's a much needed uplifting experience for a nation which hasn't had much to celebrate lately ...

I hope you got the full story on "the holdup"! It's a shame that they had to lie about what really happened...

Yes I did, and thought everyone else would have by now , that's really the reason I posted that " tongue-in-cheek " remark .. What a bozo ( a boozer bozo ) ! May have lost $$ millions in what would have been endorsements .

Lochte loaded. And shot himself in both feet.

I read somewhere $10-$20M lost in endoresements. And for no reason at all, there was no reason for any of them to even report the incident. There was no police report from the service station. For another $20 the cabbie would have stayed silent. Just really dumb.

Really not so remarkable what alcohol can do to ones thought process! Considering all the people they have available to advise our Olympians it's hard to believe they weren't better advised and handled. Considering the corruption that abounds in this country it's remarkable that the right skids weren't greased to make this go away. I suppose this is the difference between 3rd world countries and those like ours.
