Driving on the left hand side of the road in the UK when I negotiate a left hand bend I'm on the inside of the curve. Conversely with a right hand bend I'm on the outside of the curve, Right! I began to wonder quite some time ago why I negotiated a left hand bend more comfortably, especially considering it is the inside of the curve. Hmmm. So one day when driving about I took a right hand curve and didn't feel comfortable. But I noted what I was doing. On left hand bends it's natural to have your right hand dominating the steering wheel. Why? Because that hand moves a greater distance as you steer the bend and is better positioned for control. The opposite is true for right hand bends, the left hand should dominate. Guess what I was doing, using my right hand for both directions! Doh! Didn't realise I was till that point! Did the correct thing on the next right hander and what a difference! Occasionally I still slip into this bad habit especially when I'm just doddling about. But at least the mystery is solved! It's worked for me! Maybe some of you other guys are stupid like me, sorry, I meant let down by slightly poor technique. It's one to watch out for.
