So what is your primary means of cutting your grass? On a rider or push mower?



I use a rider. 46" deck. Makes the whole event much more efficient. However, its can be tricky mowing out by the street curb!

Self-propelled. I get to excercise walking behind it, tho the thought of mowing the lawn with beer in hand appeals..

Primarily a Husqvarna with a 54" deck, secondarily a Toro with a 38" deck for the tight spots, and a Jinma JM284 with a 6' finish mower for the open areas.

Simplicity rider for most of the yard and then a battery powered push (also self propelled if you wish) for around the pool and a couple of places that it is more convenient. I borrow a few of my friend's goats for some brushy areas in the occasions I want to clear them.

Good lord, I had my own lawn service as a kid and then worked for a landscaping firm in high school and partly in college. I have sworn off this chore! Suppose if economics necessitated I would along with lots of other stuff but no mo! Don't get me wrong I spent the day cleaning out the garage for bulk cleanup day but cutting grass, hmmmm

I think men should encourage woman to appreciate and even love garden work. It enriches their lives and gives them an activity that's very healthy. Plus it's something they can do in retirement.

I have an acre of lawn, and used a Craftsman 48" mower for years. Took about 1.5 hours to cut it, and edge it. Now i have young kids come out in 60" Dixie Choppers, they are done in 20 minutes. I think is saw them do a neighbors yard the other day with what looked like a 70+" mower. Huge.



By the time i added up fuel, oil, belts, and blade sharpening (has 3 blades) or blade replacement, line for weed wacker, blade for edger, + time and storing everythng.....$140/mo. Is a bargain for the service.

Seat time on a mower is a type of therapy for me. I have a 72" ZT and a 60"mmm on a tractor and my 21" push mower. Tractor has power steering, cruse and beverage holder.

The wife uses a Toro Groundsmaster with a 72 inch deck. I try to sharpen the blades and change the oil when needed. She also has a push mower.

I must have cut 400 square miles of grass. Renting a house now with a lawn service. If I never cut, or even see, a blade of grass again I won't miss it.



Used to get on the mower on Friday night about 6, grab some beeros, get a mean buzz on and bash my head into the trees limbs in my orchard. Ah those were the days....

I started mowing my parent's lawn when I was 10. Dad had a '67 Vette, convertible, baby blue with a white top. Just the 327ci, but still nice. I barely remember it. When I was 5, we moved to a 10 acre plot. Dad mowed the lawn just once with his push mower. After that he sold the vette and bought a 18hp wheelhorse mini-tractor.



I learned how to drive on that tractor....
