recommendations for shop in the Portland, OR area
#1

Hi all - This is my first post on the forum - so bear with me if I make some mistakes. I just got my 968 Coupe about 3 wks ago and I live in the Portland area. Wondering if anybody on the forum is local to my area and has a recommendation for a good shop that does their work. Any info will be appreciated
Thanks

Welcome MR.

I do not live in Oregon but did purchase my last 968 from a Portland gent. He spoke very highly of the following two independents:

Stutgart Autotech - Mike owner
17263 SW Pilkington Road
Lake Oswego, Oregon 97035
503-635-3098
http://www.stuttgartautotech.com/

Marque Motors - Curt owner
7310 SW Macadam Ave
Portland, OR 97219
503-293-5386
http://www.marquemotors.com/

Let's hope that they both have survived the recession.

Tom

Welcome to Portland I live in Tigard and also just got my 968 about 1 1/2 months ago. Look at my profile and you can email me or call me and I can fill you in on the local owners that I have met and also additional places to have work done.

He asks for advice and then:

1. Never comes back, or

2. His Momma didn't teach him to say, "Thank You."

I too thought Stuttgart in Lake Oswego was reputable till they performed a minor repair of my A/C system in July 2009.
They replaced the receiver/drier, clamps and a few fittings plus recharged the system with r134a all for about $760.
and it only lasted 2 months!!
I returned it under warranty but they refused to properly test the system and only did a visual inspection and quoted an additional $1592 to replace the condenser.
I was very unhappy with this situation and chose not to have Stuttgart do any more work on my car.
I therefore do not recommend this shop for service.
