Really?? So soon?

I had the transmission mostly rebuilt in late Feb. this year and it's having issues already!

When I drive in 5th gear as I release the gas pedal the shifter "moves" up and down.

At first I thought it was funny that I had never noticed it before.

Couple months later, Sep., it becomes a concern and I consider calling up the shop who did the work.

Yesterday, if I let go of the gas while in 6th gear the car will pop it out and shift into neutral.

I've heard there are rings that prevent that for every gear and I'm guessing that 5th gear is damaged and 6th is totally broken.

I'm not sure if this is just a weird breakage or if its a failure brought on by improper reinstallation during the rebuild.

All I know is the money I was saving for a respray of the roof now has to go back into keeping the car on the road.

Sorry to hear about your recent tranny problems. I've been chasing down nagging steering issues since day one in my car so I can definitely sympathize!

Not a transmission expert, but I have heard of popping out of gear when the gas is let off. Believe it is a bad syncro.

It was a bad circlip for 6th gear.

Tranny was fixed by the mechanic who rebuilt it and they where nice enough to not charge me.
