Air comes out hot as engine gets warm -

I'm having a problem with my inside temperature. Normally even with A/C off, on a cold day if I have the temperature all the way down (on the blue), the air coming out of the vents will be very cool. Now, as the engine gets warmer, so does the air coming out of the vents, it seems like the car thinks I have the temperature all the way up. If I drive it for more than 10 minutes, it gets unbelievably hot inside and I have to open the windows (even with the fan all the way to 0). What could be broken to cause this issue? Thanks.

I am thinking stuck heater valve, but others may want to chime in...
I am taking about the valve that is right behind and slightly below where the rotor housing off the intake cam is located.
Do a quick search and you can probably find an exact pix of the location.

or possibly the control is no longer connected - there is a clip that is known to fail

There is a white plastic clip that fails in the 944/968 series that attaches to an actuator rod. It's right above the shin bone with your foot on the accelerator. When this fails you get full heat all the time. You have to a bit of a contortionist to see it but with the dash removed it's real easy
There are many post on this site(?) and other sites with pictures that show what to fix. It's a 2.00 fix if this is what failed.

We checked, and it is not broken. Should you be able to move the mechanism manually? Does anyone have any further ideas? Thanks.

Time to trace back a step then. Have a look a the actuator arm while changing the temp control. You should see it move back and forth. If not then the actuator motor may be bad, if it does move then the heater control valve may be hooped?
PS The rod is tied to the servo so you shouldn't be able to move it maually.

Check that the heater control valve mentioned earlier in this post actually works, you should see it move position when temp is set to blue. The vacum line that controls it could have fallen off or broken, other possibility could be your heater control unit in the dash not working correctly..

I have the same problem and changed already the HCV + vacuum line is ok. So I believe the control doesn't work properly.
Where is the dash temp regulator located (thermometer ?) and how can it be removed ? Anyone who did this already ? thanks

When you turn the heater control knob on the dash the heater control arm and support do not move. However, there is a vacuum control under the hood, and the rod is staying in the down position. If I manually pull the rod up, cool air comes out of the vent inside the car. Does this mean that I have a bad vacuum switch or a vacuum line is broken or unattached? I tried to trace it but it seems to go from the engine compartment into the firewall? Does anyone have any suggestions about this one?

sounds like the control arm is not connected to the mechanism
