Updating my dream garage, if I won the Super Lotto and money was no longer an issue... I would not buy a Veyron, nor an Enzo, nor a GT ... so here are my choices, based entirely on looks, comfort and fun, all rolled into one ( well, three.. ) :

Daily Driver : Aston Martin DB9 ( coupe, of course.. )

Weekend and touring Driver: Ferrari 599 Fiorano

Twice a week, solo runs , blast trough canyons and just going crazy : Audi R8-V10 ( oh, yeah - in mono-color.. none of that two tone s**t )

So what would be in your garage ? [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif[/img]

Lamborghini Reventon The Zonda was a close runner up.

Veyron. Simply a must have. This would be driven about three times a week.

F430 Scuderia Spider. What can I say, I love the lines.

i would keep my 968, and likely buy a couple more....a concourse car and a Turbo car.

If the lotto was over 100 million,

then i would also pick up a Porsche 996 GT1, Porsche Carrrera GT, a 959 S, a Dauer 962 LM, and a Porsche Cayenne GTS or Turbo S.

We often ask the question, whats the perfect 3 car stable. You must have a DD (if you have a family must seat 4) a sports car and something for the snow. Your line up is more in harmony with that.

And my line up for the 3 car garage is:

not a single new car for me - that being said, maybe a:

lamborghini muira
a ferrari 250 spyder, 275 spyder, 330 spyder, 355 targa, 360 spyder (getting the idea?)
1970 convertible 440 barracuda
1968 ss/rs convertible camaro

that'll do for the "out of reach for now" cars

First of all, if money were no object my garage would be at least 12 cars. I would include some "interesting" cars like 1974 Fleetwood Brougham, Acura NSX, 1976 Trans AM Turbo, 1929 Rolls Royce Phantom 1 . Porsche 550 Spyder, GT40.

3 New Cars ( Sports, Luxury, Snow) would be;

Porsche GT2 Cabriolet (Arctic Silver, Carrera Red Interior), my DD

Bentley Arnage RL

BMW X5 xDrive48i

I did something very similar to this on Facebook... but it was 5 cars and I didn't enact the DD-Sport/Luxury-Tour/Snow factor, so I had my 968, Cayman, Cayenne, GT and a Lotus Exige...

But for *this* specific set of rules...

1. Rebuild and upgrade to 968 Turbo RS.

2. Bentley Continental GT

3. Cayenne Turbo S

First off, I wouldn't live anywhere near snow so I wouldn't need the silly SUV.... [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img]

But, that said, my essential 3 would be:

1) 959
2) Boss 429 Mustang
3) Aston Martin Vanquish S (I think that is what it is called...)

If I could be so bold as to add a fourth, it would be a 993 GT2.

1) A dedicated track car, either an Ariel Atom or a Lotus Exige S260, along with a garage at the track to store it. Heck, why not get both, and store one at each of the two nearby tracks?

2) Hmmm... In the perperutal state of delirium that the above would induce, I'm not sure I'd care too much about what I drive on the street. For an all-around car, there's probably nothing that beats an M3. I doubt this would make anybody else's list, but I'm totally smitten with the looks of the Mercedes SLK, so that would be my choice for spring and fall days.

3) A Mercedes E-Class wagon for family hauling duties.

4) Not really a car, but my ultimate cost-is-no-object fantasy would be participation in one of the Skip Barber racing series in which they provide the car. No need to hassle with the upkeep of a race car, plus the races are a pure test of everybody's skill.

Hey look, mine is the most "environmentally friendly" list so far (other than the M3, I guess). Never thought I see the day when I was the biggest tree hugger around [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img]

Simply the most beautiful car ever made. Period.

some of the cars listed above were on my long list of cars i'd like to have, but i filtered them out in the spirit of the "money is no object" concept - i set the lower threshold at $100k since anything below that is really doable by just about anybody, without the lottery, just applying yourself and saving up

that's why cars like the shelby mustang and such did not hit my list

Can't help it, I'm an "80's" fan!!!

As such, I luv the hopelessly "straked out" Ferrari Testarossa. However, as compelling as it is, Ferrari's Testarossa is just too heavy and the interior doesn't measure up to the exterior.

Furthermore, I'm not big on maintaining (and insuring), a fleet of cars. So I'll keep my list to just one "dream" car:

a 1989 Porsche 930 (911 Turbo), "505" Slantnose.

It's so Duran Duran.....

Good point; Maybe it's just me, but I see greatly diminishing returns on cars where the sticker gets much above, say, $80K. In fact, I'n not sure there's a car out there for any price that beats a Boxster S, Cayman S, or a new M3, for overall competence (pefrormance, comfort, qualtily, practicality, etc.). And what (at least the new) mega-dollar cars do have in common, which to me is highly UNdesirable, is gobs of excess weight.

But if you held a gun to my head and forced me to spend over $100K on a car, I guess my list would be something like:

1) Ferrari F500, when it comes out.
2) McLaren F1 (now we're talkin' some serious coin...)
3) BMW Z8 (imho one of the top 10 most beautiful cars ever made)

But I would drive a 1983 Chevy Corsica the rest of my life in exchange for a lifetime membership in the Barber series [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif[/img]

Edit: As long as I get to keep my 968...

1997 993 Turbo S (top of the line)
Austin Healey 100 BN2 (pure sports car).
1968 Shelby GT-500 KR (pure speed)
1965 Corvette FI/Disk brakes (needed since I was 13).
1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV (dates)
