Oil Sensor leaking - Ryan - 07-10-2009

The sensor located on the passinger side, lower edge of the oilpan is a strange bird. The thing will rotate by hand and mine is leaking. How is it removed?

I was at the dealer and they pulled it up on PET to look at it. The only gasket is this triangle looking thing, but it seems the unit is round where it enters the pan. I can rotate it freely by hand. The wires coming off it keep it from turning all the way around. I would have though there was an "O" ring in there or something. Anybody with any experience on this?

Yep... I replaced mine a few years ago. After removing the bolts, you can turn the sensor and it should pull out. If I recall correctly there is only 1 gasket. I also coated the gasket with sealer. I don't remember if there was a seal though.
Definately a simple fix!!!!
