What is wrong with this Porsche ad? - RPM - 10-01-2009
This is obviously a scam of some sort. I can identify three specific problems with the ad - can you?

In the frontal pic it looks like the car has a full wing.
and the engine size is off. 993s came with a 3.6 not a 2.7

It's a mid 70's 911 with the later body panels. It's suprisingly a common thing to see, not sure why people do it.
Just from the text:
5spd - should be 6spd
2.7l - should be 3.6l
The seats and door panels appear to be from a 964

I don't think I see a scam. Although not written very well, the ad states that it is a 1976 911, with the original 2.7 liter engine and 5 speed trans.
It is clearly a 993 body panel refit (and exhaust, and electrics, etc.). Maybe the upgrade even included the automatic spoiler in the rear which is sticking up just a notch in that one front view picture. Expensive! Updating an older 911 to newer body has been going on for decades. But all of them eventually become worth much less than an original car. For $13K the buyer would be much better off adding another $5K and finding an excellent original 911SC or Carrera.

That same reason people want to retrofit 993 headlights to the 968. To update the looks. Its really easy to make an early 911 look like a 964 or 993 and there are literally dozens out there that have done so.
A friend of a friends here in NYC actually owns a modified 930 which looks like its a 964 Turbo.
